Step 1: Documentation

To get an Ayush license, proper documentation is essential for smooth and quick approval. The application process for the Ayush license is conducted online and is based on a formal application. All information you provide must be accurate, as any errors may lead to the rejection of your application. Therefore, we advise you to present all authentic documents in their required formats.

Step 2: Apply For GMP Certificate

GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practice Certificate, and it ensures that you have opted for the best practices while manufacturing Ayush goods. GPM certification means that the organization has maintained the necessary hygiene, equipment, and protocol as per Ayush standards

Step 3: Apply For COPP Certificate

If you are exporting Ayush products, you must apply for a COPP Certificate. A certificate of pharmaceutical products is essential to trading your Ayush products on an international level. COPP ensures that the products meet the standards of both importing and manufacturing countries.

Step 4: Download The Form For Ayush License Certificate

Once you possess all the required documents, the next step is to download the application form for the Ayush license certificate. As per the Drug and Cosmetics Rule, 1945, you need to fill out form 24D for the Ayush manufacturing license and form 25E for the Ayush loan license. The permit can be downloaded from the e-aushadhi portal.

Step 5: Fill Out & Submit The Application

After assembling all the documents required and downloading the form, you must fill in all the mentioned information on the form manually. Make sure the details provided by you are true to avoid rejection. The information may include the details of the place of business or location of the manufacturing facility, the details of the product to be manufactured and/or sold, and the details of the staff employed. After filling out the information, scan its copy and submit it on the Department's website.

Step 6:Verification By Ayush Department’s Commissioner

Upon receiving the application, the Department will verify every bit of information provided by you. The Ayush Department’s commissioner also visits your office/ place of business or manufacturing unit to examine personally and make a report for the same. After examination, the department and the commissioner will decide whether to approve your application or not based on your report.

Step 7: Ayush License Granted

If the department approves the application after verification, it will grant you an Ayush license. Usually, it takes up to 60 days for the department to process the form of Ayush certificate.

How Much Does An Ayush License Cost?

With the 4th Amendment to the Drug Rules, October 1st, 2021, the application fee for the AYUSH License has been updated to Rs. 2,000, an increase from the former fee of Rs. 1,000, applicable for any quantity of Ayurvedic, Unani, and Siddha drugs or cosmetics. Furthermore, the fee for up to 10 proprietary ASU drugs has risen to Rs. 3,000.

Validity Of Ayush Certificate

The validity of the Ayush license was limited to 5 years before the Drugs (4th Amendment) Rules, 2021, And has to be renewed every 5 years. However, After the introduction of the Drugs (4th Amendment) Rules, 2021, the validity of the license is extended to lifelong. subject to online submission of self-compliance declaration every year or unless the license is suspended or canceled. In addition, the manufacturing facility will be subject to inspection and have to apply for a GPM certificate again.
